We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant or Graduate Accountant to join our very busy and highly varied Accounts department based in Southport. This role would suit a qualified accountant ready to take the next step in their career. Due to the nature of this busy role, a positive attitude with a hands-on approach is required.
What the role briefly entails:
- Deal Processing functions; cost accounting
- Allocation of funds receivables
- General journals
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance to accounting standards
- Extensive Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Reporting & Analysis of P&L statements
- Assist in the statutory tax reporting namely, GST, LCT, FBT and PAYG
- Cash flow management
- Assist in external audit preparation/requirements
- Manufacturer reporting
- Support for the Dealership Accountant
- Work on projects where necessary as directed by the Financial Controller
- Effective communication with Managers and employees alike from various departments
- Either an experienced Assistant Accountant or Graduate Accountant (Tax and Audit background encouraged to apply)
- Either an Accounting Degree (highly desirable) or any accounting study will be viewed highly, or working towards
- Automotive Dealership background not essential, but desirable
- An ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
- Strong communication skills both within a department and with stakeholders in the broader Group
- Strong attention to detail
- High analytical skills
