Assistant Nursing Director - Brisbane City Watch House and Statewide Sexual Assault Nurse Examination Program

About the role

  • Undertake operational planning, management and evaluation of designated services and maintenance of professional nursing within the Brisbane City Watch House (BCWH).
  • Provide overall planning, coordination, formulation and direction of policies relating to the provision of state-wide forensic nursing care encompassing forensic clinical examinations for adult victims of sexual assault and primary care in watch houses.
  • Lead and collaboratively provide strategic oversight and management, productivity and efficiency of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examination (SANE) Program achieving identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Facilitate practice of self and others in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Accountable for quality assurance of services provided by forensic nurse examiners and clinical nurse consultants delivering forensic nursing care across the state.
  • Provide strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement in forensic and watch house nursing care.
  • Undertake operational planning, management and evaluation of designated services and maintenance of professional nursing within the Brisbane City Watch House (BCWH).
  • Accountable for program deliverables under a program/project management philosophy working collaboratively with FMQ for performance and reporting.
  • Provide expert clinical advice around training, continuing education and communications for forensic nurse examiners and clinical nurse consultants delivering forensic nursing care across the state.
