Assistant Restaurant Manager

We currently have an excellent opportunity available at our popular restaurant in Hawthorn East for an enthusiastic & motivated Trainee Restaurant Manager.
In this part time (or fulltime) position, you need to be available to work on weekends and nights.
The role includes the following:
  • Full knowledge of order of service in an a la carte restaurant.
  • Full knowledge of food and beverages.
  • Practice and maintain OHS standards.
  • Maintain clean and hygienic work environment and restaurant.
  • Set up restaurant and tables to suit bookings for each service.
  • Organise booking and tables to suit diners.
  • Greet and seat diners.
  • Manage assigned section.
  • Provide prompt and deft service to customers.
  • Manage and navigate staff.
  • Prepare rosters based on business demands and staff availabilities.
  • Train and develop trainee/junior staff.
  • Manage and maintain licensed bar.
  • Liaise with kitchen staff re: booking events, customer needs.
  • Prepare guest accounts and transactions.
  • Open and close venue.
  • Maintain coffee section (Station).
  • Prepare and dispense alcoholic beverages.
  • Stocktake and ordering (purchasing).
  • Use of computer and point of sales system.
  • Prepare and adjust menus.
  • Manage rosters to maintain optimum payroll percentage.
Applicant must be a people person with hospitality experience, team leader qualities and a commitment to the industry.
