We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Behaviour Support Practitioners and Behaviour Support Officers in Dubbo and Orange, NSW.

Distinct Directions is an Allied Health Practice working across a number of service sectors including Forensic, Disability and Mental Health. As a broad provider, we work with clients with a variety of needs and challenges. We have a company philosophy for staff that is based on continuous growth and development - we want to work with you to become the clinician that you want to be. We have several treatment modalities that are employed as well as different service types ranging from small group programs, individual therapy, behaviour support implementation and corporate consulting. With a range of senior clinicians, the supervision and support program is extensive to ensure that staff are supported to develop their skills. We work with staff to develop a reasonable balance of direct client work, administrative time and development time to ensure that we continue to provide a place to work that is positive and stimulating - without being overly stressful.
We strongly recognise competency-based learning and would encourage people without formal degree qualifications but significant experience in Behaviour Support to contact us.
Role 1: Behaviour Support Practitioners –
Pay bracket: $78,000 - $100,000 + superannuation
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Distinct Directions, you will be responsible for providing support to individuals with complex needs in the community.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and behaviours
- Developing and implementing behaviour support plans
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of behaviour support plans
- Providing training and support to families, carers and support staff
- Collaborating with other professionals and stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to support
- Registration with the NDIS Quality & Safeguard Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (minimum level CORE).
- Demonstrated experience (1-2 years) in providing person-centred behaviour support to adults and children with complex disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in behaviour assessment, planning and implementing behaviour strategies that improve the client’s quality of life.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a strong focus on providing high-quality support, including report writing, to a client and their supporters.
- The ability to work autonomously, meet required timeframes and importantly contribute positively to the Distinct Directions team.
Pay bracket: $74,000 - $85,000 + superannuation
Behaviour Support Officers, following Distinct Directions guidelines, work under supervision while developing skills to gain registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and behaviours
- Developing and implementing behaviour support plans
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of behaviour support plans
- Providing training and support to families, carers and support staff
- Collaborating with other professionals and stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to support
- Passion to engage in activities & learning program to obtain registration with the NDIS Quality & Safeguard Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Demonstrated experience (1-2 years) in providing person-centred behaviour support to adults and children with complex disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a strong focus on providing high-quality support, including report writing, to a client and their supporters.
- The ability to work autonomously, meet required timeframes and importantly contribute positively to the Distinct Directions team.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and use creative problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Strong Supportive Administrative Team
- Support of hugely experienced senior practitioners.
- Total salary negotiable with experience.
