  • Parks Australia
  • Canberra, ACT
Who we are
Australia’s natural and cultural heritage is unique. Our land and seascapes are distinctive, home to plants and animals found nowhere else in the world, and to some of the oldest living cultures on earth. These environments and cultures are an essential part of our national identity, and visitors travel from across the country and the world to experience them. The Director of National Parks (the Director) is responsible for six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 58 Australian Marine Parks and the Heard Island and Mc Donald Islands Marine Reserve established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Parks Australia is the federal park agency that supports the Director, and they are a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). We work to showcase these natural and cultural wonders to the world, demonstrating to all why these places are so special, and inspiring communities to become more invested in their care and future.

The Parks Support Services branch provides support to each Park and the DNP through the provision of a number of corporate services, such as finance, HR, Legal, Procurement and Workplace Health and Safety.

The Property, Security and ICT Section provides support through planning, coordination and management of Parks property, security, and ICT arrangements across the DNP.
The section is responsible for the delivery of:

  • Consolidated service arrangements that support the effective maintenance and security of the DNP’s property portfolio
  • Coordinated approach towards property planning, development, sustainability and the target of Net Zero
  • Planning, testing, and coordination of security exercises and drills
  • Delivery of robust protective security operations and measures on Park that minimise risk and reduce the number of incidents
  • Ensure the coordinated planning, delivery and management of fit-for-purpose ICT services across our Parks and within the corporate offices.
  • The Section works closely with the broader Departmental teams in the delivery of these functions.
The Job
You will be responsible for working under limited supervision to manage a range of administrative and project support activities, including but not limited to:
  • Undertaking market research into ICT products and services that enhance the capabilities of a remote workforce.
  • Managing procurement, contracts and project plans for the delivery of ICT products and services to the DNP.
  • Coordinating and co-facilitating requirements gathering and analysis workshops with stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the development and review of business requirements, use cases and change requests relating to the development of new or enhanced ICT capabilities.
  • Managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including preparation of test cases.
  • Providing input into the design and delivery of training products, instructional material and other change management activities that support effective adoption of ICT managed within the DNP.
  • Coordinating the investigation and resolution of ICT incidents and issues that are brought to the attention of the team.
  • Maintaining a register of ICT incidents, issues and change requests raised by DNP staff.
