Casual/Contractor Community Occupational Therapist

PART TIME & CONTRACT

Location: South West / Inner West / Ryde / Hills / North Shore. Clients will be referred to you based on your location to minimise travel required.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Community Occupational Therapist to join our team on a casual/contractor basis. Our mobile allied health service is dedicated to providing high-quality therapy to people of all ages and abilities. This role will be predominately look after NDIS clients (including paediatric clients). We will refer clients to you based on your preference, skills and location, which means you can choose not to see certain type of clients if you wish (e.g. it is fine if you are not confident enough to do SIL assessment or do not want to see clients with behaviour issues). Other caseload (e.g. , elderly clients with HCP funding, mental health, DVA) is optional but not compulsory.
Responsibilities (Depends on the type of clients that you would like to look after):
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for children with various developmental and behavioural needs.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve children's functional abilities and participation in daily activities.
  • Doing home visits to conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, cognitive, and functional abilities to determine their needs and goals.
  • Develop personalized equipment recommendtions, home modifications and intervention strategies to promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Provide therapy interventions to improve clients' mobility, self-care skills, and overall quality of life.
  • Collaborate with clients, their families, and other service providers to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Educate clients and caregivers on adaptive equipment, home modifications, and strategies for maximizing independence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience working with NDIS or HCP clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Driver's license and access to a car is preferred
  • Mandarin and/or Cantonese speaking preferred.
