The Opportunity
As a Catering Assistant in the City of Perth, you will assists with all aspects of kitchen and dining room service at Citiplace Community Centre, including customer service, food preparation, setup and cleaning.
Reporting to the Citiplace Community Centre Supervisor within our Community Services team, your responsibilities would primarily include:

• Assist with the preparation of food, setup for daily service, and special events;
• Deliver a high standard of customer service, including counter or table service;
• Accurately operate a Point of Sale/ EFTPOS machine and give correct change; and
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas and with equipment.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:

• Sound knowledge and experience of food preparation, hygiene, commercial kitchen safety practices and equipment;
• Experience handling cash and Point of Sale systems and knowledge of cash handling procedures;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English; and
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers, including people with disabilities.
