Your Hotel - Ovolo Woolloomooloo
Ovolo Woolloomooloo is the brand's flagship Australian hotel, located in Sydney's idyllic harbourside suburb of... (dramatic drum roll) Woolloomooloo. Nestled in the heart of the popular wharf precinct, a short walk to the city's central business district, the hotel is surrounded by a wide selection of much-loved dining and nightlife options. Ovolo Woolloomooloo features 100 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art gym, meeting rooms and events spaces, a swimming pool, and Bar Woolloomooloo.
The Gig
We are looking for multiple Part-time Chef de Partie, Junior and Senior Sous Chefs. Reporting to the Exec Chef, as our newest member of the kitchen team you are the master of food execution and lead by example. You will be assisting with the growth of our food offering, menu and workflow design. And it’s not just a great dish that you can deliver, you can deliver a solid financial result too. This is a Part-Time role and will require flexibility within availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Assist in menu planning, implementation and execution.
- Controlling food preparation and managing wastage for your section.
- Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality, meeting and exceeding our guests' expectations.
- Lead, train, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain the highest levels of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with our culinary team to maintain menu consistency and make necessary adjustments as per seasonal availability and customer feedback.
- Monitor food costs and work towards achieving budgeted food cost percentages while maintaining quality.
- Promote sustainable practices in the kitchen and sourcing ingredients responsibly.
