Using place based and collective change approaches, The Salvation Army’s Communities for Children (Cf C) Facilitating Partner Program in Logan aims to deliver positive and sustainable outcomes for vulnerable children and families. As the Facilitating Partner, The Salvation Army subcontracts a number of Community Partners to deliver the Cf C activities which support children aged 0-12 in the greater Logan region. The program seeks to deliver on the Salvation Army’s mission, by strengthening family and community functioning, supporting families, improving children’s wellbeing and increasing participation in community life.
We have an exciting, opportunity for a mission-hearted, values-driven leader to guide the Logan Cf C team into the future. The Cf C Program Manager oversees and manages the strategic operations of the program, while providing visionary people leadership and support to a high functioning team. Through your deep understanding and affinity with The Salvation Army’s mission, you will be able to clearly articulate the ‘why’ of the Cf C program in Logan, engaging your team in the practical pursuit of strategic objectives and outcomes. You will also have exceptional relationship building skills, engaging community, government and other stakeholders in a journey to bring about change for the betterment of families and children.
This is a permanent full time position, based in Logan, reporting to the Qld Doorways State Manager and is paid under Level 7 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
You will successfully
  • Through community consultation, partnership and planning, and capacity building activities; design, develop and maintain a strategic plan to engage the community, community partners and relevant stakeholders, in activities and funding arrangements, that seek to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families in TSA CFC FP Logan region.
  • Apply a Community Development and Collective Impact lens to identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other providers and community, to respond to emerging needs within communities.
  • Harness well established networks and relationships in government, non-government, and the community sector, broker partnerships to respond to emerging community need.
  • Foster key strategic relationships within community, various levels of government and the private sector, and leverage these to work towards system wide change for the betterment of children and families for whom current systems don’t work.
  • Provide a strategic approach to working with the Department of Social Services, Community, NGO’s, and other Stakeholders to create a collaborative delivery of services and activities within communities, that strives to avoid duplication and services working in competition.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget, including identifying and attracting alternative funding sources in order to further advance the strategic objectives of the Cf C FP Program in Logan.
  • Identify opportunities and partnerships that will provide benefit to families with children 0-12 years based on best practice in delivering children’s and family activities including social inclusion strategies for ‘hard to engage’ families.
  • Manage Community Partner Funding Agreements.
  • Provide clear and compelling leadership to the Cf C FP team by modelling and demonstrating a “mission/vision/values -centric” approach to the role.
You will have
  • Relevant Tertiary Degree in a Social Science, Child Development or other applicable discipline, and / or significant experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in leading a high performing and autonomous team.
  • Community Development/Collective Impact/ Place Based experience, training and/or demonstrated understanding of principals is highly regarded.
  • Understanding or experience of early childhood practice approaches is highly regarded
  • Experience working collaboratively in a very culturally diverse community, including with First Nation’s peoples, is highly regarded.
