What you will do

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Technology, your day to day will involve:

• Hunting for, detecting and responding to cyber threats and incidents across Athena's internal and externally facing environments.
• Liaising with externally operated Security Operations Centre.
• Providing security guidance to internal technology and business functions to ensure our business is conducted safely while moving at speed.
• Helping to shape the roadmap
• Building tools and processes to make Athena safer (and your life easier!)

What will help you succeed

• At least 5 years work experience in a Security/Operational Security role.
• Being a self starter, and not one to walk away from a problem or a challenge.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to adapt your message based on the audience or desired outcome.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure security. Familiar with AWS services and building blocks, and have built in AWS as part of your day job
• Experience monitoring, hunting for and responding to cyber threats within internal and externally facing environments.
• An understanding of Application Security and secure coding practices, such as familiarity with OWASP Top 10, and common CWE's associated with each category.
• Reasonable scripting skills (e.g. Python); you're not necessarily a developer, but can write code to make your life easier.
• Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment.
