The Role
This is a pivotal role for a Environmental Consultant looking to drive projects forward, expand their technical expertise, and make a real impact. Based in our Coffs Harbour office, you will play a key role in managing and delivering projects across a range of environmental disciplines. You will lead field programs, provide technical expertise, develop potential in our junior staff and contribute to the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project delivery, including overseeing budgets and timelines, to ensure successful completion of programs within scope and budget.
• Lead and coordinate field programs, including soil, groundwater, air, and vibration monitoring.
• Produce comprehensive technical reports while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for major projects.
• Prepare proposals and contributing to tenders for new business.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and local authorities to ensure project approvals and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance and share expertise to support the development of junior staff.
• Drive continuous improvement in environmental practices within the business, promoting innovation and sustainability in project solutions.
• Contribute to the development of internal systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and quality in project delivery.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:

• Relevant degree in environmental science, engineering, or realted field.
• Full currnt unrestricted Driver’s Licence issued by Australia State or Territory.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in environmental science or consulting.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Experience in preparing fee proposals and managing stakeholders (clients, regulators etc).

Skills and Knowledge:

• Aptitude in designing, planning and implementation of contaminated land management projects.
• Advanced technical ability coupled with strong report writing capability.
• A strong understanding of NSW CLM legislation (i.e. NEPM, PFAS NEMP and ANZG).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Bonus Skills
Although not essential, the below would be valuable in your role with ENV:

• Understanding of QLD CLM legislation and waste management framework.
• GIS capabilities (GPS sampling grids, groundwater contours, site plans and maps etc).
• Industry association accreditations.
• Licenced Asbestos Assessor (LAA).
