The Role
Ventia are currently looking to engage a Groundsperson to join our Defence Base Services Contract. This position will see you working at RAAF Base Learmonth near Exmouth WA within a well-established maintenance team.
Ventia are currently looking to engage a Groundsperson to join our Defence Base Services Contract. This position will see you working at RAAF Base Learmonth near Exmouth WA within a well-established maintenance team.
This role will see you maintain a wide variety of built and natural parks assets including streetscapes, training grounds, verges, sporting and recreational grounds.
This position is initially a casual role, working Monday to Friday, 06:00am – 02:30pm (with overtime opportunities) and a 12:00pm finish on Fridays. There will be opportunities to move into a full-time permanent role for the right candidate.
The payrate for this position is $31.86 per hour + casual loading.
To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.
The Grounds Maintenance Team are responsible for, but not limited to:
- Mowing / slashing of Turf areas, verges, and firebreaks
- Weed control using herbicides
- Reticulation operation and minor repairs
- Garden maintenance including mulching, pruning, hedging, weeding etc
- Use of plant & equipment such as ride on and push mowers, brush cutters, blowers, edger’s, hedgers, spraying equipment etc
- Slashing/mowing/brush cutting and weed control of the airfield
- General labouring
Requirements:
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Experience with tractors and plant – desirable but not essential
- Able to Pass a Pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol screen
- Experience in a similar parks & gardens or landscaping role – Highly regarded
