The Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) is in place to realise a data-driven organisation for Commonwealth Bank Group. We do this by solving complex problems around data for the business and activating data for strategic and sustained competitive advantage to enhance the financial wellbeing of our customers in a safe, sound and secure way.

As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will be a thought leader responsible for the safe, sound and secure delivery and operation of the data platforms. The Staff Engineer is a senior individual contributor and is needed to lead and influence our platforms' strategic directions.

We're interested in hearing from people who :

• Possesses hands-on technical experience working in a public cloud environment either in AWS or Azure would be ideal
• Are passionate about Cloud/Dev Ops/Automation and possess a keen interest to solve complex problems in a systematic approach
• Ensure robust IT controls and advanced Dev Sec Ops practices across all Crew-owned IT assets.
• Possess the ability to develop and oversee the technology designs, collaborating closely with Technology Leads and Architects.
• Exhibit a proactive approach, constantly seeking innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Offer mentorship to junior engineers, contributing effectively both as an individual and as a team member.

Technical Skills :

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Experience with AWS services (EMR, Redshift, Glue among others)
• Experience with designing and building Serverless and/or Docker containers.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, etc)
• Experience automating repetitive tasks using Ansible, Python, shell scripting, etc.
• Experience decomposing complex problems down into Sprint deliverable components.
• Experience implementing large scale self-service enterprise data platforms highly desirable
