About the Role

We currently have opportunities for Mechanical Supervisors to join our Fixed Plant team, these unique opportunities within Port Fixed Plant Maintenance team are ideally suited to an individual seeking to develop their leadership skills to further support their career aspirations.

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent Execution, you will be responsible for:

• Ensure conformance with the BHP policies and procedures and relevant WHS and statutory obligations
• As an Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations in accordance with your appointment
• Responsible for mechanical plant health and development of long term reliability of fixed plant
• Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
• Ensuring compliance to the Safety Management Plans during shutdowns, specifically targeting the areas of Material Risk control and technical ability
• Communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders
• Operating within an established maintenance management system, your key focus will be to promote a high level of team interaction and coordination

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Mechanical Trade cert or Mechanical Engineering degree
• S26 statutory Supervisor experience or ability to obtain
• Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
• Strong leadership experience in leading & developing teams
• Excellent knowledge of plant and equipment
• Highly developed analytical problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong stakeholder relationships
• Safety focus with the ability to identify and implement safe work practices
• Ability to follow plans clearly and concisely within a maintenance environment, demonstrating a sound knowledge of maintenance practices.
