The Climate Management function is focused on developing business opportunities within new sectors; notably Banking, Asset Management and Green Tech. Our aim is to help these industries to better understand, measure and manage the current and future physical climate risk exposure within their portfolios.
You will report to the Manager, Climate Analytics.


Your Role

• Engage with external clients and internal Climate Managers to gain an understanding of their needs and challenges
• Analyse data results and support clients in understanding how to apply these insights to their climate risk strategies
• Create detailed reports, slide presentations, and visualisations that make complex data accessible to clients
• Help develop new data and analytics products, exploring ways to offer greater value to clients
• Work with climate scientists, client managers, and other team members to communicate product updates, client feedback and latest trends
• Collaborate with industry and subject matter experts to investigate relevant sources of natural peril and climate risk information
• Perform event response analytics following the occurrence of natural catastrophe events
• Develop efficient and innovative approaches to solve analytical problems and communicate results and methodologies to a wide range of audiences
• Attend fortnightly and ad hoc calls with global colleagues predominantly based in the US and Europe

Your Profile

• Tertiary level education in STEM field such as Environment Science, Climate Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
• 2 years+ of commercial experience in climate risk analytics, natural hazard assessment, or a related field
• Ability to query data with Python and familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS)
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI is beneficial
• Scenario analysis and stress testing experience would be advantageous
• Strong ability to analyse and interpret complex climate data and apply it to real-world scenarios
• Creative problem-solving abilities, with a focus on both immediate solutions and long-term impacts
• Ability to engage with clients, understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
• Banking, Asset Management or start-up experience would be highly regarded
