News Corp Australia, Google and Melbourne Business School have joined forces to drive the Digital News Academy (DNA), the first partnership of its kind in the world to offer a curriculum dedicated to digital storytelling, designed for the working journalist, giving participants unique access to a range of national leaders and global experts.
The Opportunity
A new and exciting opportunity now exists to join the DNA team. As the successful candidate, you will work closely with the Academy Director and Operations Manager and have responsibility for key deliverables that include maintaining the Academy’s content repository; providing student success, curriculum and live event support; developing content- related assets to assist learners with data activities and more; developing audio-visual material and slides as needed for social media and events; managing the DNA social media channels as well as developing learner communications.
Some key accountabilities will also include:

• Building on existing data resources to ensure the DNA is well positioned to meet the needs of learners as a practical program that supports application of curriculum content into different roles and newsrooms.
• Manage DNA social media platforms for project deliverables, including content creation, video content creation, sharing of learner posts, engaging learners, graduates, Subject Matter Experts.
• Assist the DNA team in areas of student and curriculum support, as needed or required.
• Support live event delivery through moderation of sessions where necessary.
• Prepare slides for live and special events.
• Coordinate and trouble shoot learner assessment submissions and the selected Subject Matter Experts as markers in relevant disciplines, including where required multiple markers.
• Conduct regular development and updates of learner communications and nudges as a crucial tool to support learners on their learning journey.
• Report project progress and provide recommendations on issues and risks to OM and AD.
• Develop and maintain functional relationships with stakeholders within DNA and across MBS.

About you
As a highly organised and detail-oriented individual, you will preferably have formal qualifications in Journalism coupled with a working understanding of the Journalism industry. You will also be able to demonstrate specialist digital skills including some knowledge of the technology/media landscape. Some exposure to tutoring or providing learner support to students together with some experience in SEO, verification/source intelligence would be highly beneficial to your success in this role.
