Position: Roof Tiler
Location: Toowoomba, QLD
Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum
Qualifications And Experience:

• AQF Certificate III in Roof Tiling (including at least two years of on-the-job training), or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
• Relevant industry experience necessary to be considered

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and study drawings, specifications, and work sites to assess material requirements.
• Erect ladders and scaffolds to access work areas safely.
• Install waterproof sheets over eaves and secure them appropriately.
• Attach roofing underlay to roofs using nails and staples.
• Align and secure starter rows of roofing material with edges, using wire, staples, and nails, and overlap successive layers of tiles.
• Measure and cut roofing materials to fit around vents, chimneys, corners, and ridges.
• Fix edge and ridge tiles with cement mortar.
• Slide roofing material under prefabricated flashing and secure it with nails.
• Caulk and flash exposed nail heads to prevent leaks.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in erecting and using ladders and scaffolds.
• Skilled in installing various roofing materials and ensuring waterproofing.
• Ability to measure, cut, and fit roofing materials accurately.
• Competence in securing roofing materials and fixing tiles with precision.
