The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is responsible for managing the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of the largest and most successful stadiums in the world. Hosting over 70 major events and welcoming millions of patrons and visitors each year, the MCG plays a central role in Australia's sports and entertainment industry.
Due to an internal promotion, the Safety and Resilience Coordinator position is now available within the MCC's Safety and Resilience team, which sits within the Venue & Event Services department. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in both safety and business resilience, contributing to the effective implementation of our Health and Safety Management System across MCC-operated sites through day-to-day operations, including event preparation and delivery at the MCG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage safety risks, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Oversee incident and contractor management systems, conducting audits, inspections and investigations to maintain safety standards.
- Assist in emergency management, including preparedness, response, and recovery activities.
- Provide support and training on safety systems and processes, particularly through the Rapid Global platform.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture through hands-on involvement in safety and business resilience initiatives and projects.
- Learn and grow: Build your expertise in safety and business resilience as you develop practical, hands-on skills, within a supportive team environment.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- An understanding workplace safety and OH&S legislation (Certificate IV in WHS is desirable).
- Ability to balance competing demands and work effectively within deadlines.
- Flexibility to work on designated event days, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
