Reporting to the National Sales Manager, as State Sales Manager – WA you’ll be responsible for driving the residential mortgage state sales team in achieving sales production and growth of our residential mortgage portfolio through a structured engagement program with accredited mortgage brokers.
In addition to managing a team of residential Business Development Managers and Relationship Managers, you’ll manage your own portfolio of residential mortgage brokers.

What you’ll do
- Generate sales and growth of residential mortgages through effective relationship building.
- Act as a coach, leader and manager of the residential mortgage sales team.
- Increase the state’s number of active mortgage brokers dealing with ING.
- Deepen broker relationships by increasing the level of applications per active broker with ING
- Build commercial mortgage and wealth referral sources.
- Deliver training and education programs on ING product, policy and process to ensure customer type and credit quality aligns to the ING primary bank strategy, risk culture and risk appetite.
- Promote ING’s strategy with our key business partners to generate market opportunities
- Represent ING at internal and external / industry events.
- Actively contribute to employee engagement and supporting a high-performance learning environment
- Assist the business to meet all risk, compliance, audit and quality requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Experience within sales management in third party residential mortgages.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and build B2B and B2C relationships.
- Proven coaching, leadership and sales management of a team; with the ability to motivate and lead a high-performance sales team; effectively contributing to team performance, culture and increasing education amongst peers.
- Exceptional credit skills and understanding of lending structures.
- Experienced written and verbal communicator at all levels
- Exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to work under pressure and to work autonomously and effectively with a balance of sales activities and administration commitments.
- Commercial acumen extending to problem solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional presentation skills to ensure professional delivery of message with impact.
