The role
We are seeking a Secondary School Inquiry Learning Leader to join our team of passionate educators. This permanent full-time opportunity will commence in Term 4, 2024.
At Pymble the library is a welcoming, warm and inspiring space where students and staff gather to learn, research, collaborate, create and nurture their selves. The physical space, and the staff within it, promote inquiry, critical thinking, trans- literacy, literature, ICT and digital citizenship skills.
The successful applicant will have an enthusiasm for student learning, literacy and research and will mindfully support this by working directly with students and with teachers from diverse curriculum areas. They will also assist with providing supervision for students in the Library and uphold the ethos of the College, both within the Library space and more broadly throughout the College.
We are seeking an individual with a collaborative and service- oriented approach. The team has an exceptional reputation within the College and we would like to ensure it is maintained and enhanced.

Our kind of teacher
You will display the following skills and attributes:
- Willingness to support and promote the ethos and values of the College
- Qualifications in both teaching and librarianship, or a qualification in teacher librarianship, providing eligibility for Associate (professional) membership to ALIA and teaching accreditation with NESA, or A qualification in teaching (accredited with NESA) with teaching experience in a secondary school and a passion for libraries and interest in studying the Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship)
- Be an exceptional teacher who demonstrates enthusiasm and the ability to inspire others in their pursuit of reading, inquiry-based learning and research
- Ability to provide effective, collaborative, dynamic, innovative and strategic leadership in the area of information literacy and curriculum-based technologies
- Work productively and collaboratively as part of the Secondary School Library team, broader K-12 library teams and wider College team
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and sustain quality working relationships
- Ability to evaluate the range of physical and digital resources and teaching strategies available to teachers and selectively implement initiatives that consistently improve student learning outcomes
- Flexible, positive attitude with a strong work ethic and an ability to manage challenge

Your kind of benefits
We offer salaries above the award, ranging from $95,000 - $135,000 per annum (plus superannuation). Your salary will be based on your NESA accreditation level.
