• The safe and effective operation of the plant and equipment within a designated production team to meet site production and organisational targets
• Achieving benchmark performance levels of cost, safety, environment, quality and output rates for the operation
• Complying with Nyrstar’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and conducting business in line with the Nyrstar Values of Respect, Excellence, Teamwork, Integrity and Ownership
• Building a strong customer focus between maintenance and operating teams.

• Ensure housekeeping of work area provides a safe and healthy environment at all times
• Cleaning and maintenance of specialist equipment including PPE.
• Carrying out area audits.

• The aptitude and flexibility to learn and apply new skills in various operating roles.

• A minimum educational standard (literacy and numeracy) of year 10 with good computer literacy.

• Previous experience on a construction or manufacturing site or similar role.
• Heavy industry/shift work experience, preferably in mining and metals (desirable).
• Flexible, helpful attitude and an enthusiasm to go ‘above and beyond’ to support broader departmental and operational needs as we grow.
• Must be confident in their trouble shooting, problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Sound mechanical aptitude.
• Physically fit and able to undertake a range of manual handling tasks.
• Licenses or qualifications in Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, and White Card are advantageous.
