Hervey Bay Special School is an Education Queensland P-12 State Special School, located on Queensland's beautiful Fraser Coast. All our students have an intellectual impairment with many students requiring support across additional disabilities including, autism, physical impairment, vision impairment and hearing impairment.
Our curriculum for Prep though to Year 10 is drawn from the Australian Curriculum, with learning activities designed to provide personalised learning that is age appropriate and meaningful. Students in the Senior Years (year 11 and 12) work towards attainment of their Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) though school-based instruction and opportunities within the local community. Eligible senior students are also able to complete studies leading to a Vocational, Education and Training (VET) Cert 1 qualification.
