Team Leader - Student Success & Retention

The role is responsible for the coordination and provision of engagement services to Chisholm’s student community, providing wrap-around support, helping students achieve their study goals, engage in student life, and balance their personal wellbeing and study needs. With responsibility across key student engagement functions, the incumbent will be required to collaborate across Student Support and Engagement teams and also delivery business units to improve the overall student experience.
This role supports transitional stages that occur in the student journey, supporting student success and retention through connection to further student support services. The role contributes to improving participation, completion rates and graduation outcomes for students.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Team, Leader you will:
- Provide dynamic leadership and direction to Student Engagement team to ensure that service delivery is efficient, effective and customer focused, with a focus on first contact resolution.
- Establish and maintain key relationships with business areas and external vendors to ensure resources reflect the needs of course delivery.
- Act as a subject matter expert in designing and developing interactive and engaging student presentations, workshops, and activities.
- Develop and execute engagement campaigns with at-risk student cohorts that creates an effective link between the student and support network/services within the Institute.
- Provide multifaceted and holistic support to academically ‘at-risk’ student cohorts to increase student success and retention rates, through a range of support mechanisms including individual support, encouraging social connection, facilitating workshops, and engaging with specialised support areas and delivery departments to provide a tailored support model.
- Generate weekly data reports on team engagement with student community, and at-risk student cohorts
- Support and assist professional educators and support services to ensure that the induction/orientation of students is comprehensive and reaches all commencing at-risk student cohorts.
You are a highly motivated individual with-
- Experience designing and implementing Student Engagement programs/initiatives.
- Experience leading teams and/or stakeholders in the delivery of Student Engagement programs/initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in developing targeted digital engagement campaigns designed to produce an uplift in conversion
- Experience leveraging a range of multidisciplinary supports to deliver student engagement and retention.
- Excellent skills in digital data gathering, analysis and reporting.
Qualifications required for the role:
- A related Degree in people related services; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience and specialist expertise in communications, community services and/or significant student support and engagement experience.
- It would be desirable if you have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
