What are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee Accountant to join our high performing Commercial team. This position is permanent, full time, working a Monday to Friday roster. Reporting to the Mine Accountant, the primary purpose of this role is to provide accounting and commercial transactional support to the Commercial team and deliver accurate cost information in a timely manner.
In this role you will be responsible for:

General ledger account reconciliations and maintenance
-
Assisting with end of month processes (journals, accrual, data integrity) and audit requests

Daily bank account reconciliations including coordination of required outgoing payments
-
Preparation of inputs for taxation reports and returns (FBT, GST, income tax etc) in compliance with legal requirements

Validation of weekly accounts payable and fortnightly payroll payments
-
Vendor onboarding and maintenance in accordance with the Commercial Framework

Effective application of the Commercial Framework and relevant Accounting Standards

Assisting the Commercial team with other tasks that support teamwork and aid your own growth
About you:
-
You have, at minimum, commenced a Commerce degree or equivalent (practical experience will be highly regarded)

You possess superior written and verbal communication skills
-
You have a high regard for your personal safety and that of your teammates

You have the ability to follow a plan and the resilience to adapt to a constantly changing environment

You demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to working proactively

You are a team player with an attitude for outstanding performance and a willingness to contribute to a winning team
