Where you'll be working
Workplace Based Assessment Program (International Medical Graduates)
Fairfield Hospital is thrilled to announce its involvement in the International Medical Graduate Workplace Based Assessment Pathways program. This means that you can now join the Fairfield Hospital team and earn your Australian Accreditation whilst working in various departments including Emergency, O &G, Paediatrics and Intensive Care.
This program has limited spots/ availability however if deemed suitable to undertake the Workplace based assessment program it would provide you with the below benefits.
As a part of the program you will be overseen by members of the AMC Board of Examiners and at conclusion of successfully completing the program would receive AMC Certification to continue your Employment at Fairfield Hospital.
(The Workplace Based Assessment Program can be used in place of sitting the second part of AMC Practical Examinations required for International Medical Graduates.)

Our hospital is the perfect teaching environment with over 38 thousand emergency admittances each year and specialised divisions such as our Hand Clinic, Ultrasound/Echo and Orthopaedic surgery. We offer a small, collaborative team who can provide holistic training and rapid career progression.
JMO Wellbeing
At Fairfield Hospital, JMO Wellbeing is at the forefront of our actions. We undertake regular JMO teaching initiatives and ensure that your learning is delivered by experienced consultants from a diverse range of disciplines. We ensure you are supported during these sessions with simple things such as catering and convenient resources. Our DMS and DPET are readily available at Fairfield Hospital and we encourage all staff to draw on the availability of these assets. As a JMO you will have admin assistance at your fingertips and will be heavily supported by a team of friendly and encouraging staff. Programs and initiatives including learning support and counselling are frequently available to help grow our people so that we can better serve our local community
What you'll be doing
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated excellent paediatric and neonatal clinical skills and judgement; able to make sound decisions in accordance with level of experience and awareness of limitations
- Demonstrated competence in Neonatal resuscitation and common Paediatric procedures with a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience and with a minimum of 12 months experience as a Paediatric Basic Trainee or equivalent.
- Proven ability to organise, plan and manage competing tasks and demonstrated ability to undertake concise and accurate clinical handover
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, supervision of junior medical staff, patient safety and risk management including demonstrated experience in taking a comprehensive patient history, performing clinical examinations and accurate documentation in the patient's record.
- Proven ability to adapt verbal communication style for patients and peers to ensure their message is understood and demonstrated ability to write clear and legible clinical notes, reports and referrals.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and a commitment to actively contribute to clinical team building.
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict within a team environment or resolution of differing clinical opinions.
