URGENT Junior IT Desktop Support Engineer

CONTRACT

Position: Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Clarinda, VIC 3169, Melbourne, Australia
Contract Type: 1-year contract, with possibility of renewal
Salary: 5,300 AUD per month
Visa Sponsorship: Not provided; candidates must have legal working permits
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for end users seeking technical assistance with desktop/laptop hardware, software, network, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot issues on Windows & Mac OS platforms, as well as mobile devices running Apple i OS & Android OS.
  • Configure and set up end user desktops, laptops, software, printers, mobile phones, and peripherals.
  • Provide guidance to users on application installations.
  • Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the internal ticketing system.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate support teams.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation and manuals for known issues.
  • Image and deploy laptops, desktops, and tablets for end users.
  • Manage assets including stock level checks, tracking, receiving, preparing, and shipping assets.
  • Coordinate office moves.
  • Perform inventory collection (Serial Numbers / Asset Tag / Service Tag) for all applicable devices.
  • Capture rack elevations and operational details as required.
  • Provide White Glove support to identified onsite VIPs, including expedited troubleshooting, proactive monitoring, and targeted training.
  • Assist in identifying network devices and provide smart hands and eyes support as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Comp TIA A+, MCP, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 months of hands-on experience in IT support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Availability for occasional off-hours and weekend work as required.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $5,300.00 per month
Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
