Event Manager at an international research institute

- € 3,300* gross/month; position initially limited for 1,5 years (extension t.b.d.)
The Events Team at ISTA organizes academic events like conferences, workshops and meetings, as well as social internal events, public outreach activities and networking events. For our active Events Team we are currently looking for a flexible and reliable team player who is interested in working in an international environment within a diverse and dynamic working atmosphere. The position is initially limited for 18 months, but an extension of the contract can be discussed during the employment.
- Supporting faculty at ISTA in the organization of scientific conferences, workshops and other academic events
- Planning and organization of internal events, networking events and outreach formats (e.g., Spring Festival, big X or Open Campus)
- Planning and organization of science education events (summercamps, science fairs and science festivals in the VISTA Science Experience Center)
- Improving existing and creating new ideas, formats and contents
- Event marketing and advertising of events via different channels (online and offline)
- Moderation of events
- Completed (higher) education in either Event Management, Hospitality, or comparable fields
- Relevant professional experience in event management, ideally in tertiary educational institutions
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end academic events
- Proficient in time management to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A good understanding of the needs of various stakeholders and audiences
- Excellent command of English and German
- Strong team player with excellent communication and organization skills
- Can-do attitude
- High degree of service-orientation and hands-on mentality
- Outgoing personality enjoying the moderation of events
- Interest in science education topics
