Business Development Manager Energy - Freelance

Our client, a leading company specializing in B2B energy brokerage, is undergoing significant expansion and wishes to strengthen its sales team. Active since 2014, they primarily operate in Belgium, as well as in France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Italy. The team, made up of about ten freelance collaborators, is based in a coworking space in Brussels. It is characterized by a flexible structure and a high level of autonomy.
Tasks
In a context of growth, the company is recruiting two salespeople for Flanders and one salesperson for the French-speaking part of Belgium, totaling three new positions.
The Team
The team consists of a CEO, an Operations Director, a Financial Director, three independent salespeople, two project managers, a back office, and an IT team of five people based in France.
Requirements
This job is for you if:
Tasks
- Identify prospects and engage in active prospecting.
- Spot growth opportunities with existing clients.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of B2B clients, particularly in high-energy consumption sectors such as retail chains, production sites, and real estate asset managers.
- Offer tailored solutions to optimize companies' contracts and energy consumption.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide follow-up support.
- Negotiate and close contracts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a trusting relationship with clients and provide regular follow-up to ensure their satisfaction.

Requirements
This job is for you if:
- You have at least 5 years of experience in B2B service sales, ideally in the energy sector or a similar field such as insurance brokerage.
- You are a good communicator and able to explain technical concepts in an accessible way.
- You have a strong interest in energy consumption and are willing to keep your knowledge up to date.
- Your expertise allows you to position yourself as a credible interlocutor with business leaders.
- You are results-oriented.
- You are able to adapt to an unstructured environment and handle complex situations.
- You are fluent in French or Dutch. Knowledge of English is a plus.
- Preferred independent contractor status, with the possibility to discuss other options.
- Competitive compensation including a monthly base salary and uncapped sales commissions.
- Flexible and autonomous work environment, with great freedom in organizing your work, up to 60% remote.
