Department: CAE Engineering

Reporting to: Engineering manager
Role: Chemistry lab operator
Location: Elsyca NV, Wijgmaal, Belgium
Employment: Full time or part-time (to be agreed)

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be part of the CAE engineering team and will focus on supporting Elsyca
computer-aided engineering projects.
The job tasks will include:

• Electrolyte and material characterization by electrochemical techniques (liquid or soil samples)

• Surface analysis by various techniques (roughness, composition and thickness of materials/coatings)

• Post-process laboratorial experiment results and interpretation of results

• Construct, build or assemble prototype equipment (lab cells or industrial tooling designed by Elsyca)

• Maintain and ensure the lab is always in good order

• Provide lab training and support to customers

• Work with Elsyca’s own software and/or 3rd party software tools to support design and engineering

analyses

• Communicate and collaborate as a team member in the engineering team

• Interact with other Elsyca departments/teams to provide engineering support to their activities

About you

• Strong lab skills and knowledge of standard lab operations and equipment (analytical balance, p H

meters, conductivity meters, etc.)

• Ability to safely manipulate potentially dangerous substances, as for example, strong acids and bases

(experience in working with fume hoods)

• Good laboratorial practices (lab organization, housekeeping, stock management, equipment

maintenance, etc.)

• Excellent practical/mechanical skills (construct experimental setups, assemble prototype cells or

prototype tooling equipment)

• Skilled in Microsoft Office® products, particularly Microsoft Excel®

• Have excellent problem-solving skills

• Be fluent in English (spoken and written)

• Be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Be able to work with tight deadlines

• Demonstrate good attention to detail
