As a part of Keystone Solutions, you will have the opportunity to work with one of Belgium's leading public transport organizations on a consulting mission. This client is a key player in mobility and sustainable development, with over 5,400 employees and 120 diverse professions, all united by a common goal: to improve the performance, user-friendliness, and sustainability of public transport services daily.
You will be working within the Embedded Systems Department, which is spearheading the "SAM (Système d Aide à la Mobilité)" project. This project includes developing a new onboard computer (ODB) for 3,000 buses and trams and an Operations Support System (SAE) that provides real-time and delayed data access. These solutions work in tandem to enhance operational efficiency.
Mission
Your consultancy role will focus on enhancing the stability, performance, and quality of developments supporting the SAM project. Key responsibilities include:

Migration of the Development Stack: Guide the migration from the existing technology stack to a more modern framework deployed under Kubernetes across three environments: development, staging, and production. This involves:
- Upgrading from PHP 8 to PHP 8.3
- Transitioning from Symfony 6.0 to Symfony 6.4 LTS
- Migrating from API Platform 2.7 to API Platform 3.0
The migration aims to:
- Reduce complexity and technical debt by shifting from custom code to native features.
- Improve maintenance to shorten bug resolution times and new feature implementation.
- Simplify the learning curve by avoiding custom systems.
Code Quality Audit: Conduct a comprehensive code quality audit to identify areas for improvement, with a strong focus on security. This will include identifying and implementing corrective actions for potential vulnerabilities.
Development Team Support: Implement best practices in development to support and guide the clients development team.

Profile
To excel in this consultancy role with Keystone Solutions, you must demonstrate technical and practical expertise in the following areas:

PHP 8.3
Symfony 6.4 LTS
API Platform 3.0
Kubernetes / Maria DB
Technical migration of these stacks
Developer training
