Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Green Strategy Officer to join us in our HSE Services Belgium Team, based in our Campus site in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.


About the role
As Green Strategy Officer, you will promote the new Green Mindset UCB wants to infuse in all our activities. It will support both technical and soft skills development on the site, aiming at increasing the awareness in all departments on environmental issues. It will focus on the integration of environmental aspects in the day-to-day activities of the site.

You will work with a team of 23 individuals, all passionate about environmental matters.


What you’ll do
Your main activities will consist in 2 pillars:


Technical support:

• As the person in charge of the follow-up of the energy and water consumption on our research and manufacturing site, you will be a key contributor of our new energy and water data collection program, aiming at reducing our environmental footprint. Besides making sure we collect valid data; you will support the definition of improvement projects and the completion of action plans. You will manage the building consumption monitoring software.
• You will have to manage local projects aimed in particular at improving the wastewater treatment plant; the increase in circularity in waste management at the Braine site; the reduction of atmospheric emissions (emission trading ), green teams ‘s activities. You will have to manage others specific local topics (noise and COV emissions, iso 14001, emission trading, new carbon agreement, soil pollution).

Green Mindset:

• Validation and follow-up of the Green KPI’s developed at department level. Ensure an efficient communication of the best practices, main successes, green activities on the site, green project roadmaps.
• Develop the awareness of the field population on the environmental impact of their day-to-day activities. (communication, develop specific training (climate fresco, … ))
• Be the coordinator of the activities of our departmental Green Teams (teams of volunteers who engaged themselves in Green Excellence). Make sure the Green Teams work in synergy and are aligned with the company Green Strategy objectives.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

• You possess a Bachelor's degree and from 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• You are fluent in French with a good level of English.
• You demonstrate team spirit, strong communication skills and the ability to engage, among other, technical discussion with stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
• You possess a “Green mindset” and can set challenging targets.
