Sluit je aan bij ons energieke team in het Solenis Research Center in Wommelgem, België, en speel een belangrijke rol in de ontwikkeling van duurzame barrièrecoatingtechnologieën.
Solenis biedt een compleet assortiment barrièrecoatingformuleringen om een verscheidenheid aan papier- en kartonverpakkingsproducten te ondersteunen, waaronder papieren bekers, fastfoodverpakkingen en golfkartonnen dozen.
Je werkt zelfstandig met minimale supervisie en voert een reeks spannende taken uit:

• Meester van het Lab: Stel geavanceerde laboratoriumapparatuur in en bedien deze voor de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten voor papiercoatingtoepassingen.
• Formulatie Tovenaar: Ontwikkel en test formuleringen met wateroplosbare of latexpolymeren, waarbij je continu nieuwe analytische technieken leert en geavanceerde instrumenten bedient.
• Data Detective: Genereer en analyseer experimentele gegevens en vertaal bevindingen in heldere en uitgebreide rapporten voor hoofdonderzoekers.
• Veiligheidskampioen: Zorg voor een veilige en efficiënte laboratoriumomgeving, volg strikte veiligheidsprotocollen en beheer het laboratoriumonderhoud.

Meer dan de Basis:

• Breng coatings aan en evalueer verschillende parameters van gecoat papier en vezelproducten.
• Bereid monsters voor voor tests op laboratorium- en semi-pilotschaal.
• Voer analyses uit, registreer gegevens en bewaak de kwaliteit van analytische apparatuur.
• Voer materiaalanalyses en stabiliteitstests uit en interpreteer de resultaten effectief.
• Werk nauw samen met collega’s in de afdelingen Analytische Technologie, Applicatietechnologie en Procestechnologie.

Wat maakt jou de perfecte kandidaat?

• A2- of bachelordiploma in Chemie of een vergelijkbaar vakgebied (2-5 jaar ervaring in een industrieel laboratorium is een pluspunt).
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in het Nederlands en Engels (zowel mondeling als schriftelijk).
• Sterke teamgeest en toewijding aan het bereiken van doelen. Nauwkeurige werkhouding met een talent voor analytisch denken en probleemoplossing.
• Ervaring met MS Word en Excel.
• Sterke focus op veiligheid en kennis van het omgaan met gevaarlijke materialen.
• Werkvergunning voor de EU/België.

Are you passionate about science and eager to contribute to innovative solutions in the paper coating industry? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you as a Laboratory Technician/Associate!
Join our vibrant team at the Solenis Research Center in Wommelgem, Belgium, and play a key role in the development of sustainable barrier coating technologies.
Solenis offers a complete range of barrier coating formulations to accommodate a variety of paper and paperboard packaging products, including paper cups, fast food wrappers and corrugated boxes.
You'll work independently with minimal supervision, performing a variety of exciting tasks:

• Master the Lab: Set up and operate cutting-edge lab equipment for new product development in paper coating applications.
• Formulation Wizard: Develop and test formulations using water-soluble or latex polymers, constantly learning new analytical techniques and operating advanced instrumentation.
• Data Detective: Generate and analyze experimental data, translating findings into clear and comprehensive reports for principal investigators.
• Safety Champion: Ensure a safe and efficient lab environment, adhering to strict safety protocols and managing lab maintenance.

Beyond the Basics:

• Apply coatings and evaluate various parameters of coated paper and fiber items.
• Prepare samples for lab and semi-pilot scale testing.
• Conduct analyses, register data, and maintain the quality of analytical devices.
• Perform material analyses and stability tests, interpreting results effectively.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in Analytical, Application, and Process Technology departments.

What makes you a great fit?

• A2 or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or similar field (2-5 years of industrial laboratory experience preferred).
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English (both written and oral).
