Job Overview:
In Vitro Capital is seeking an AI Engineer with a strong focus on Prompt Engineering to design, fine-tune, and optimize large language models (LLMs) and machine learning applications. This role involves developing innovative AI-driven solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying at the forefront of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning advancements. You will work to improve the effectiveness of language models through prompt engineering, ensuring that AI applications deliver accurate, contextually relevant responses.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Pacific Time Zone.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) for NLP applications, with a primary focus on prompt engineering to enhance model performance and response quality.
• Create and optimize machine learning models using libraries and frameworks such as Tensor Flow, Py Torch, and scikit-learn.
• Design and implement effective prompts that align with business needs and user requirements, ensuring models provide accurate and insightful outputs.
• Collaborate with developers, data scientists, and product managers to design AI-driven solutions that meet business and customer objectives.
• Perform comprehensive testing, including prompt iteration and hyperparameter tuning, to ensure models deliver consistent and high-quality performance.
• Integrate NLP and machine learning models into business applications, ensuring smooth interaction with other systems.
• Analyze large datasets using tools like Hadoop and Spark to extract valuable insights and improve model accuracy.
• Maintain data pipelines and automation workflows using tools like Apache Airflow, ensuring the scalability and efficiency of machine learning models.
• Stay current with advances in prompt engineering, machine learning, and AI, continuously improving models based on emerging techniques and trends.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing best practices for prompt engineering and model optimization.
• Use version control tools like Git to manage code integrity and collaborate effectively within a team.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning, with a specific focus on NLP and prompt engineering.
• Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow, Py Torch, and scikit-learn.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with data manipulation tools like SQL and Pandas.
• Proven experience in fine-tuning and optimizing models using prompt engineering techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in handling large datasets.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, and tools like Jira for project management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with a focus on AI-driven innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
• Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning platforms such as AWS Sage Maker or Google Cloud AI.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for model deployment and scalability.
• Knowledge of computer vision techniques and reinforcement learning.
