Our client is a small Saa S business that builds administrative software for community choirs. Our current business consists of 2 tightly integrated products. The back-end is Rails, front-end is a mix of Angular JS and Angular. The engineering team consists of one full-stack engineer (with a back-end Ro R focus) and a full-stack engineer who wears many hats as CEO.

Responsibilities

They're primarily looking to add one full-time front-end engineer to help with the following projects:

• Update the Angular app (product #2) to use the latest version of Angular (the app is currently using Angular 8);
• Rewrite the Angular JS app front-end (product #1) to use Angular;
• Help build product #3. This will likely be a 1+ year project, with ongoing maintenance and growth afterward;
• Help maintain and build on the functionality for products #1 and #2 on an ongoing basis.

The intent is that the person who updates/re-writes these front-ends will be involved in building on the longer term.
Requirements

• Advanced English skills;
• Expert frontend skills;

• Deep Javascript and Typescript knowledge (Angular or React);
• Ability to work with legacy code (in this case, it’s written in Angular JS)

Nice to have:

• Experience migrating legacy frontend projects to updated versions e.g. Angular JS to Angular18/newer React versions.
• Experience updating older versions to newer versions e.g. Angular 8 to 16
• Connection to the arts (plays instruments, sings, help S in cultural projects, etc)
• Experience structuring automated tests for frontend
• Familiarity with projects that involve ticketing, donor/CRM, or personnel management
• Working style (not a code spitter, knows when to ask questions to clarify edge cases, anticipates needs of customers and can be a collaborative part of development process)
