About the Role:
Elanco is seeking a highly motivated, trustworthy, flexible and proactive LATAM Indirect Procurement Manager to join our dynamic Latin America team. Based in São Paulo, Brazil, this critical role will contribute significantly to our regional procurement strategy across Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, with other LATAM countries also in scope.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a high-performing indirect procurement team across multiple countries in Latam, driving cost savings, mitigating risk, and fostering strong supplier and stakeholder relationships. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, leading sourcing initiatives, and ensuring contract and policies compliance within the assigned spend areas.

About the Role:

This individual will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, leading sourcing initiatives, and ensuring contract and policies compliance within the assigned spend areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement regional category strategies for indirect services, aligning with global category leads in areas such as Marketing/Sales, R&D, General Admin (G&A – Finance, Tax, Accounting, Facilities, Real States, etc), Fleet, IT, and HR.
- Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiations and execute contracts with new and selected suppliers, ensuring a transparent and reliable process.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring value delivery. Facilitate regular performance reviews as needed for strategic suppliers with key stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals located across Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, besides implementing a LIP – Latam Indirect Procurement Meeting to secure open communication with the team and share / standardize best practices.Commitment to continuous improvement of team through development and process where opportunities present themselves.
- Leadership Team Participation: Represent the Latin America region in the Indirect Procurement Lead Team (IPLT) and Extended Procurement Lead Team (e PLT), contributing to global procurement strategies and leadership decisions.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure buy-in for procurement solutions, acting as a trusted business partner and change agent.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends and dynamics, identifying opportunities for innovation and cost optimization to develop and maintain category and sourcing strategies with LATAM team.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant processes, policies and regulations, supporting ethical procurement practices and doing things the rights way. Support usages of procurement tools and technology maps, as well as procurement playbook. Stay up to date with e Learning requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Power Point, and Word. Experience with e-Sourcing platforms is a plus.
- Leadership & Change Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence organizational change, with examples of proactive initiatives and bold decision-making.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of value chains, cost drivers, and financial analysis.
- Collaboration & Conflict Resolution: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate conflict situations and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external teams.
- Negotiation & Contract Expertise: Strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of commercial law principles.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English. Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable.
- Ethics & Integrity: Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct, with the ability to firmly address policy violations.
- Adaptability & Resilience: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Proven experience in indirect procurement, with a focus on category management and strategic sourcing.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese is required.
- Working knowledge of e-Sourcing tools and technologies is preferred.
- Travel availability: up to 20%
