Head of Customs and Logistics at JoomPro Brazil

Joom Pro is one of the key businesses of Joom, international group of e-commerce companies that was founded in 2016 in Latvia. Joom also includes other businesses: Joom Marketplace, a platform for shopping from all over the world; Onfy, a pharmaceutical marketplace in Germany, and Joom Pulse, data platform that provides analytics and recommendations for marketplace sellers. Joom's offices are located in Latvia, China, Hong Kong, the USA, Germany, Brazil and Portugal. Joom Group has HQ in Lisbon, Portugal.
We are seeking an experienced Head of Customs and Logistics for our operations in Brazil. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in customs processes, logistics management, and the nuances of Brazilian import regulations. This role requires a professional who can not only oversee the end-to-end customs clearance and logistics functions but also develop strategic plans to optimize processes and reduce costs.
Responsibilities

Provide clear direction on logistics and customs processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of import activities
Manage all aspects of customs clearance, including direct and indirect imports (e.g., por Conta e Ordem de Terceiro, por Encomenda)
Navigate complex import regulations to minimize delays and avoid compliance issues
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the import processes, both theoretically and practically
Identify and establish partnerships with logistics and customs service providers
Lead and mentor a team of two Brazilian customs and logistics professionals. Provide guidance, set performance expectations, and manage the budget to achieve departmental goals
Work closely with trading companies and partners to ensure effective coordination of shipments, while maintaining compliance and validating processes

Requirements

Proven experience in customs and logistics management within Brazil
Strong understanding of both direct and indirect import processes and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners
Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Familiarity with a broad network of customs and logistics service providers in Brazil
