Department Overview

Our teams develop mission critical software for handling emergency (911, 112) calls.

This platform connects our on-premise call handling solution with our leading edge Command Central call handling cloud product. The teams are responsible for end-to-end software development including: design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance. We work in well balanced agile teams with a full range of software development experience and the embedded mindset of Dev Ops culture and continuous delivery approach.

Job Description

As a Junior Software Engineer on the Emergency Call Handling team in Brazil, you will contribute to extending capabilities of our mission critical platform and enhancing the existing technologies we use.

Basic Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Experience with Java or other Object Oriented programming languages
• Knowledge about microservices and REST API
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields
• English language skills allowing for efficient communication with our peers and customers in North America
• Participates as an individual contributor to the team, focused on daily activities and planning for the team. Self-organized, collaborative mindset.

Must have:

• Learning mindset
• Java, C# or other Object Oriented programming language
• Docker (containers)
• High level understanding of message broker concepts

Should have:

• Message broker experience
• Understanding of microservices architecture
• Understanding of the protocols HTTP / REST
• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure

Could have:

• Automated testing knowledge
• Networking knowledge
• Kubernetes
• SIP/RTP
• Web RTC
