Job Title: Application Analyst (Junior)
Location: Remote (Work must be done from within Canada)
Working Hours:
- Standard hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 MST, Monday through Friday excluding holidays
Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented and dedicated Application Analyst to join our innovative team. You will play a vital role in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintaining our Enterprise Database Archival Service on the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP Public Cloud). This role requires close collaboration with end-users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless platform operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform software updates, patch installations, and system configurations to maintain system stability and security.
- Develop and maintain various technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Work with Big Data and Business Intelligence technologies.
- Understand CDP Public Cloud Base and Data Services from the architectural level.
- Assist with end-user issues from both CDP and infrastructure sides, providing temporary and permanent fixes.
- Manage access requests, incidents, and the change management process via systems like Service Now.
- Administer and audit CDP User access and data management.
- Upgrade/Patch Cloudera components and take necessary backups.
- Migrate applications/data from Development to Production.
- Troubleshoot issues in SSSD, Free IPA, Azure IDP, and other integrations.
- Manage Azure VM's and storage, including cost analysis.
- Build and optimize data warehouses/data lakes for analytical needs.
- Design and create dashboards and custom reports using various data sources.
- Analyze data to provide insightful analytics for decision-making.
- Escalate issues and risks when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- University degree in a related discipline OR a two-year diploma in a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year using Big Data platforms like Cloudera Data Platform.
- Minimum of 1 year with Azure Infrastructure and Services.
- Minimum of 1 year working with Big Data and Business Intelligence.
- Minimum of 1 year in CDP Public Cloud upgrade, patching, and system maintenance.
- Minimum of 1 year using Data Warehouse and Reporting Tools.
- Minimum of 1 year with Kubernetes Cluster and Linux OS.
- Additional Skills:
- Experience in planning/monitoring user acceptance testing is advantageous.
- Experience with Azure subscriptions and cost analysis is advantageous.
- Experience in developing dashboards and reports is advantageous.
Equipment Requirements:
- Must provide your own computer with a modern version of Windows or Mac OS compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Preferably Windows due to better compatibility. Required remote access software will be installed on your computer.
Additional Information:
- This is a newly created role.
- A standard background check will be required.
- The role involves mandatory training including Security Awareness and Privacy legislation.
