Architectural Technologist

Commercial Contractors Inc. are very active in all areas of construction from design, site work, new building, renovations, alterations and property maintenance.

Do you have a creative mind and are knowledgeable with construction and building codes? Do you like seeing your visions come to reality? If so, we are looking for a talented architectural technologist (or similar) to join our team.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITES WOULD BE:
  • Preparation of design and presentation drawings for ICI type buildings
  • Draft technical drawings for new buildings, renovations and alterations, from preliminary concepts & sketches to final construction documents
  • Provide detailed drawings with accurate and clearly labeled measurements, materials, and finishes specifications
  • Support the team with concept development, budgeting etc.
  • Complete documentation packages and drawing sets.
  • Work alongside and regularly communicate with owner, architects, contractors, engineers, JPCC staff and suppliers
  • Provide take-offs to estimators
  • Interact with team to seek architectural design and technical solutions
  • Maintain project documentation
  • Perform other duties as required
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
  • Knowledge of construction process and applicable building codes and municipal requirements. Barrier free design is extremely important
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Ability to follow direction, instruction and requests from Manager and clients
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to research and resolve technical and building code matters
  • Outgoing and engaging personality with the ability to interact with clients, consultants and municipal officials effectively and professionally
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Independent and works with minimal supervision but willing to collaborate
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of Architectural Construction Engineering Technology (ACET) program or equivalent experience
  • Must have valid G license and transportation
  • Minimum 3 year relevant experience
  • BCIN certification an asset
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Architectural design 3 years preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
Additional pay:
