A leading retailer dedicated to providing a broad selection of automotive, hardware, sports, and home products to customers across Canada. With a longstanding reputation for offering quality products and top-notch customer service, the store in Durham Region is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing operations and ensuring the store's success. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager in driving the store's performance, leading the team, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic retail professional looking to further their leadership skills and contribute to a well-established brand.
Description
- Support Store Leadership: Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the store runs efficiently. Act as the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth operations and decision-making.
- Team Leadership & Development: Help in leading and developing the store team by providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment to maintain team morale and high performance.
- Sales Growth & Profitability: Assist in driving sales growth and profitability by monitoring store performance, analyzing sales data, and identifying areas for improvement. Help implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Customer Service: Ensure that exceptional customer service is provided at all times. Assist in resolving customer concerns and maintaining a welcoming and helpful store environment.
- Operational Excellence: Help manage store operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and store presentation. Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety standards.
- Financial Accountability: Assist in managing the store’s budget and expenses. Support the Store Manager in tracking financial performance and making adjustments to achieve targets.
- Leadership and managerial experience in the retail or a similar industry.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of retail and financial principles, with the ability to assist in managing store P&L, budgeting, and sales forecasting.
- Proven track record in retail sales, retail execution, and operations in a supervisory or management role.
- Knowledge of market trends and competition in the retail and automotive service industry, helping to keep the store competitive.
- Working knowledge of department products and functions, with the ability to assist in merchandising and inventory management.
- Ability to operate POS and inventory systems (an asset).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to assist in motivating and managing a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on delivering a top-tier customer experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Familiarity with retail management software and Microsoft Office tools.
