We are currently seeking highly motivated and experienced Bar Servers to join our dynamic and award winning team.
An enthusiastic team player, the Bar Server provides an excellent dining experience. We are seeking bar team members that are interested in creating, learning and growing within the industry. This role is to help alleviate the pressure on the bartender and to help assist in serving tables and providing the exceptional quality of service we are known for.
In addition to having the right qualifications, the Bar Server embodies the qualities that are most important to Langdon Hall:
- Provide a consistently exceptional experience for all guests
- Offer guests knowledgeable, personalized service
- Ensuring excellence in guest satisfaction by maintaining a positive and committed “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude
- Participate in staff education plans, including on-the-job training
- Must be on Wilks Bar floors at all times during service periods. First responsibility is to the comfort and service of guests
- Maintain the physical appearance of the dining room area and workstations such as cleaning schedule
- Maintain the appearance of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, menus and performing closing duties
- Maintain acceptable attendance record, as well as meet Health & Safety requirements
- Perform other duties as required
- Minimum 2 years in a food and beverage role, with 1+ years in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of food and wine pairing
- Excellent knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits.
- In depth food and preparation knowledge
- Smart Serve certified, required
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of guests, peers, supervisors, and other outside contacts
- Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to be accurate, concise, detail oriented and make independent decisions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff at all levels of the organization
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Effective time management skills to organize and prioritize workload
- Knowledge of fine dining service procedures and functions a benefit but not mandatory
- Able to interact professionally both with guests and co-workers
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Stand for extended periods
- Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Well groomed, polite
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to absorb and embody Relais & Chateaux's 5C philosophy
