ENROLLMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS

LEARNER EXPERIENCE

Nor Questers are difference makers, and we're searching for talented casual staff skilled in covering all casual vacancies: peak periods, vacations, illness leaves, resignations, and special projects.

Are you looking for short-term, administrative work? Would you like the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities in a supportive, team-focused environment? If so, consider joining our Administrative Support Pool!

You may take part in a variety of assignments and have the opportunity to work in several different departments providing basic to senior level administrative or customer service-related support.

This competition will provide the division with a qualified pool of casual employees to meet emergent temporary staffing needs on an ongoing or temporary basis for on-campus work.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Provide information on Nor Quest programs, procedures and policies.
  • Direct learners and College visitors based on their needs.
  • Stay up to date on Nor Quest service departments and standards to provide clear communication to learners on next steps.
  • Book, cancel and reschedule appointments, or queue learners using established software systems.
  • Provide administrative assistance to other departments as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A post-secondary certificate in Administration or Business.
  • 1+ years of administrative experience, preferably within a post-secondary environment.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered as equivalency.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word; some knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in People Soft would be considered an asset.

WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER?

As a difference maker you bring:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortability working on a computer with some Outlook and People Soft experience.
  • Ability to work well with a team and with our diverse student population both in-person and on the phones - switchboard experience would be helpful.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must show initiative and be able to excel with minimal supervision.

SALARY:
$22.33 - $27.98/hour reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience, plus 11.2% in lieu of vacation and holidays. This is a casual position with work required in-person at our downtown Edmonton campus. Applications will be held and used to fill opportunities for the next 3 months.

Additional Information:
Pre-Employment Checks will be completed to assess the candidate’s suitability for a role. These checks may include (but are not limited to): references, criminal record check, academic verification, etc.

For applicants who have completed post-secondary studies from outside of Canada, it is recommended they obtain an assessment of their credentials from a recognized Canadian Credential Evaluator, such as:
  • International Qualifications Assessment Service https://www.alberta.ca/international-qualifications-assessment
  • World Education Services https://www.wes.org/ca/
We encourage applicants to include the assessment certificate as part of their application.
This competition may be used to fill future vacancies, across Nor Quest College, at the same or lower classification level.
