Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives, cultivating new partnerships, and expanding our business portfolio within the clinical trials industry. You will also lead the development and implementation of sales training programs for the business development team and leverage data-driven insights to optimize the sales funnel and track performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, a deep understanding of the clinical research landscape, and the ability to lead high-impact business strategies.

Essential Functions
Business Growth & Partnerships
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand Centricity Researchs market presence across multiple regions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities and partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO's.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing of business deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams.
Sales Training & Development
  • Design and implement effective sales training programs to equip the business development team with the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to excel in client engagement and deal closing.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to the sales team, ensuring they meet or exceed performance goals.
  • Ensure the team stays updated on industry trends, best practices, and sales strategies to maintain competitive advantage

Data-Driven Sales Funnel Management
  • Develop and maintain a data-driven approach to building, optimizing, and tracking the sales funnel, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Utilize CRM and sales analytics tools to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular reporting to the executive team.
  • Work closely with marketing and operations teams to align sales initiatives with broader business objectives.

Strategic Leadership
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align business development goals with the companys overall strategic objectives.
  • Track industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Represent Centricity Research at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance the companys brand visibility and build strategic alliances.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, preferably within the clinical research or healthcare industries.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering sales training programs for high-performing teams.
  • Strong expertise in managing and optimizing a sales funnel using data and analytics tools (e.g., CRM, Excel, or specialized sales software).
  • Proven track record of successfully closing complex business deals and achieving revenue growth targets.
  • Strong network within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO sectors.
  • Deep understanding of the clinical trials process and the regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
