Drafter-Glass and Aluminum Entraceways

About Us: Explore1.ca offers a full range of glass and door services in both ICI contracting and service roles. We actively pursue projects ranging from $10,000 to $10 million, focusing on specialty work with high-value materials, large-scale glass, custom entranceways, and automatic door installations. On the service side, we repair a wide range of commercial doors and are the #1 Dealer of Tormax Automatics in Canada.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join our team, with a focus on glass and aluminum entranceways. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, take initiative, and produce high-quality technical drawings on a project-by-project basis. You will also be responsible for coordinating with project managers to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft profiles for glass and aluminum entranceways using systems from Alumicor, Commdoor, CDS, and Kawneer.
- Detail commercial door hardware from suppliers such as ASSA Abloy, Dorma-Kaba, Rixson, Von Duprin, Sargent, CJ Rush, Inkan, Tormax, and CRL.
- Create drawings in Auto CAD, with the ability to transition designs from 2D to 3D being beneficial.
- Read and interpret architectural specifications, including door and hardware schedules and drawings.
- Proficient use of MS Excel.
- Coordinate work with project managers and maintain effective communication throughout the project.
- Proficiency in Auto CAD and MS Excel.
- Experience with glass and aluminum entranceways, door hardware, and profiles from industry suppliers.
- Ability to read architectural specifications and drawings.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
