The Walker Sport and Ability Centre at Canada Games Park is proudly managed by ASM Global, the world’s largest and most trusted venue management and services company operating the most prestigious entertainment, sports, and exhibition venues spanning five continents, with a portfolio of more than 300 stadiums, arenas, convention centres, entertainment districts, theatres, amphitheaters, and equestrian and recreational centres. ASM Global has an immediate opening at The Walker Sport and Ability Centre at Canada Games Park for a Facility Maintenance Team Member. Reporting to the General Manager this position oversees all facility & ice crew duties consistent with ASM Global/ The Walker Sport and Ability Centre at Canada Games Park requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes the timely setup, changeover, and tear down of event space that include, but are not limited to flooring, portable chair placements, operable walls, barricades, staging tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
- Completes the day-to-day operations of the facility to ensure the day-to-day operations are met that include, but are not limited to loading/unloading trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area an replenishing supplies.
- Completes pre/post event cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing.
- Completes repair and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, replacing ceiling tiles, and replacing filters.
- Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage, loss of property and safety concerns promptly to supervisor.
- A high school diploma (or equivalent).
- One to two years related experience and or training.
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License.
- Forklift license considered an asset.
- Ability to work unsupervised and to function both independently and as a team member.
- The flexibility to work a varied schedule which will include days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the practice and procedures related to all areas of custodial, event set up, tear down & change overs.
- Always exhibit a professional attitude and appearance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
- Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced setting.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Maintain an effective and professional working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, tenants, and others encountered in the course of employment.
- Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established in the facility.
- Ability to lift and/or move 50-80 pounds.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License
- Valid Forklift License considered an asset

Located next to the Brock University main campus and walking distance from the Athletes Village, The Walker Sport and Ability Centre at Canada Games Park will be home to new state-of-the-art sport facilities. These facilities will include the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre, consisting of a sport performance centre, a health & well-being centre, a twin-pad arena, a 200m indoor track, sport offices, and a multipurpose fieldhouse that will feature a parasport gymnasium and a combative sport centre. Six competition beach volleyball courts, a cycling and storage pavilion, and a 400m track-and-field facility will be located outside of the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre. After the 2022 Games, Canada Games Park will be open to the community and provide opportunities for all, regardless of age or physical ability.
