The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mc Gill University invites applications for an appointment as a full-time Faculty Lecturer.

The Department is committed to excellence in teaching in its undergraduate and graduate programs in Electrical, Computer, and Software Engineering. A number of faculty have received numerous teaching awards at the faculty and university levels, as well as from professional societies. The successful candidate will play a leading role in teaching undergraduate courses in Electrical, Computer, and Software engineering.
Teaching endeavours are supported in part by a dedicated and outstanding Teaching and Learning Services unit and the Enhancing Learning and Teaching in Engineering Initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to be an active member in both communities. Moreover, the successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
The expected start date is July 1, 2025. This is a full-time ranked academic, non-tenure track position with an initial appointment of one (1) year with an additional two (2) years upon successful performance review. After 6 years of continuous employment, re‐appointment is for an indefinite term. Promotion can lead to a Senior Faculty Lecturer position.

Candidates should have or soon expect a Ph.D. in engineering, education, or related field and a first degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering. Evidence of outstanding teaching achievements, or teaching potential, is indispensable. Preferred qualifications include dedication to an environment that supports diversity of population and perspectives; as our students come from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds, we invite candidates to address in their application their ability to teach, train, and mentor in this context. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the mission of the University, through outstanding activities in the areas of teaching, engineering education research, and service.
Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association is required.

  • A teaching statement that includes a description of your teaching philosophy and interests,
  • samples of teaching materials, e.g., a course outline from a course developed and taught, and where available, evidence of teaching effectiveness, e.g., student course evaluations

  • The names and email addresses of three references
