Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analytics, the Financial Analyst will work to improve strategic and tactical business decision making. This role is responsible for leading, designing, completing financial analysis, interpreting the results, and sharing insights to improve the quality of decision making. This position demands a balance of strong technical skills, high attention to detail, excellent people/managerial skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities:

Monthly Reporting Package Review and Analysis: Summarize, highlight, and consolidate
financial information from multiple systems and sources in a streamlined format for Executive
and Board of Director review. -
Building Models, Templates, and Dashboards: Work with all departments in the process to
build the tools to support key financial metrics and deliver on cross-functional team initiatives
(i.e. Operations and Supply Chain) that help deliver results. -
Cross-functional project Lead: act as a lead for cross-functional projects, including modelling
and analysis for Operations and Supply Chain. -
Fiscal Budget Planning and Latest Estimates: Support the annual budgeting and latest
estimate process for all departments and corporate stores, including communications and
department relations. -
Forecasting and Analytics: Provide forecasting for tests, new product launches, and
promotions, and work closely with all departments to ensure they are tracking to goals and
adjust as necessary. Identify high-risk items and work with the Sourcing and Marketing teams
to mitigate exposure. -
Pricing Analysis: In conjunction with the Sourcing and Marketing teams, analyze profitability
of new items and provide pricing recommendations. Identify areas of opportunity for margin
improvement through pricing and/or cost reduction initiatives. -
Flyer, Promotional and Ad-Hoc Analysis: Work with cross-functional teams to provide financial
analysis support as required, including promotional break-even analysis, project ROIs, and
post-promotional impact analysis. Summarize lessons learned and identify opportunities to
improve results.
- Post-Secondary degree, preference for Business/Commerce.
- An Accounting designation (CPA) or being very close to CPA completion is considered an asset.

2-3 years of relevant analytics experience working with big data sets and an understanding of
what is relevant for the required analysis. -
Very Strong Microsoft Excel user (i.e. advanced pivot tables, formulas, macros and VBA) with
the ability to build sustainable financial models that are extremely efficient. - Previous demonstrated Vena, Tableau, and Net Suite experience considered a strong asset.
- The ability to adapt/learn new platforms and new systems quickly.
- High attention to detail, organization skills, and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Very strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively and professionally with all
levels of the organization. Confident, with the ability to influence. -
Ability to work both independently, but comfortable representing the Finance lens in cross -
functional teams. -
