Main duties are assisting in the preparation of management reports in monthly closing and forecasting & annual budgeting, as well as BOD meeting materials for YMCA. In addition, this position will prepare annual budgeting and forecasting P&L proportional expense and B/S workbooks, and work closely with different levels of stakeholders to analyse actual vs. budget variances of the respective accounts and cost centres.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports in monthly closing and forecasting & budgeting to present different financial information for the YMCA executives, YMUS and YMC Japan. Assist in the preparation of the BOD meeting materials for the BOD members.
- Perform and prepare any ad-hoc financial analysis that are required by FP&A. Work closely with the business to understand and analyze actual vs. budget variances of the respective accounts and cost centers.
- Prepare P&L proportional expense and balance sheet workbooks to accurately calculate budget numbers for the annual budget and the rolling forecasts.
- Assist the business with accurate budgeting/forecasting, follow the timelines, and upload cost center budgets into SAP (via EPM).
- Responsible for maintaining Capital Expenditure tracking sheet to summarize actual expenditure vs budget and work with the project managers to update the project status and completion timing. Ensure asset class and depreciation years are appropriate and submitted expenditures qualify to be capitalized. Record fixed asset acquisition and disposals in SAP Fixed Asset module.
- Assist with new SAP S4 HANA implementation and other digital transformation project.
- Cross-train and provide backup for Intermediate Accountant and Staff Accountant.
- Degree/Diploma: Business related degree (BBA,BCOM, or BA)
- Program of Study: Business and/or Accounting
- Years of Experience: 3 years
- Type of Experience: Accounting, Finance and/or Public Accounting
- Qualified CPA designation, or working towards a CPA designation.
- Proficiency in Excel, including working knowledge of advanced functions.
- Have strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- A self-starter to identify areas of improvement and efficiencies.
- Solid financial accounting foundation is required to understand and interpret how financial transactions are recorded to the P&L and B/S.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
- Ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced and evolving environment.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (i.e., Oracle Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365) is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in distribution, retail, finance, or manufacturing industry is an asset.
- Some overtime may be required.
