SLC Management offers a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three or more days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

Reporting to the Senior Associate, Loans Accounting, the Financial Analyst Co-op will support with accounting and financial reporting, control checks, and process improvement initiatives within SLC Management. This role will be a combination of working from home and at our Waterloo King office - 227 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J 4C5, Canada.

Length of Term: 4 months or 8 months

What will you do?

• Accounting and reporting of loan assets for institutional investors including creating a daily movement file that includes accrued interest calculations and producing fund trial balances on daily and monthly basis
  
• Perform control checks such as detailed valuation and trial balance analysis for the pooled funds to ensure accurate Net Asset Values are sent to Fund Administrator
  
• Complete regular financial reporting to internal business partners
  
• Perform updates of queries and reports to the new SAP General Ledger as required
  
• Partner with Robotic team to identify opportunities and recommend solutions to maximize efficiency and implement improvements as necessary
  

What do you need to succeed?

• Currently enrolled in an Accounting, Math, Finance or Business program from an accredited University; previous co-op work experience is an asset
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel) is required; experience with Excel Power tools, Tableau, or Dashboard tool is an asset
  
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
  
• Quick learner, self-motivated and adaptable
  

What else should you know?

• Peak demand for reporting and analysis information at monthly and quarterly intervals results in potential overtime
  
• 7.5-hour standard workday, however flexibility is required to work 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Temporary Employee Salary Range
43,200/43 200 - 70,800/70 800
The Base Pay range is for the primary location of the job. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
