Whiting Equipment Canada Inc. is seeking a Fitter – Welder to join our growing team. Reporting to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor, your duties will include Welding and Fitting of a variety of assemblies and vessels or various metals and alloys. and also be capable of working from complex drawings.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Whiting’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Thoroughly understand and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Management Systems and Company policies.
• Work from complex drawings
• Operate various hand tools, such as but not limited to hand grinders, magnetic drills
• Operate overhead Cranes and Jib Cranes

Must-haves for this role:

• Minimum Highschool Diploma
• Must possess a high standard of quality in workmanship and be able to fit to tight tolerances.
• Must be able to work effectively and efficiently.
• Experience in FCAW, GMAW, SMAW welding processes is a requirement and any educational course’s related to fitting would be an asset.
• To be able to multi task and assist with other roles when required.
• Must be technically strong in blueprint reading and fluent in weld symbols
• Strong background in structural fitting and welding will be considered as equivalent
• If not certified a minimum of five years experience in fitting and welding of structural assemblies.
• Previous or currently ticketed with CWB an asset.
• Able to lift a minimum 22kg/50lbs.
• Welding: 3 years (preferred)
• Fitting: 3 years (preferred)

• Standard hours with overtime or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or complete urgent repairs
